Recently I have been having some Fps problems with my m14x r2.
    Here are my specs:
    Nvidia GT 650m
    Intel HD graphics 4000
    Core i7-3610IQM 2.30 GHz 8 core
    8 gb ram

When I try to run counter-strike global offensive, a 2 year old game, I get around 30-50 Fps on the lowest settings at 1600x900 resolution. I have heard people with my same specs getting about 80-120 at this resolution. does anybody know what could be the source of this problem?

    I have:
    installed the latest drivers
    reinstalled windows about 5 times
cleaned out the dust in fans, etc
    any help appreciated

What are your temps? Dusting out the fans may help a bit, but it certainly won't fix any heat problems.
As well, have you updated the BIOS?
Used factory drivers (for some reason, they work as intended)?

I can't tell the temperature, because for some reason the gt 650m won't show up on cpuid hwmonitor...
the BIOS is the latest version, and im using the latest nvidia drivers.

edit: trying to check if bios is latest and keep getting this http://imgur.com/N6DIfQ6 RIP dell

Then it means you aren't using the GT 650m.
What order of graphics drivers did you follow?
Have you set everything to high performance?

alright, it shows up on cpuid now. when doing nothing, it sits about 44 celcius, when at the main menu screen of cs go it goes to about 48, and in game it goes to about 60 degrees after about 5 minutes. everything is set on performance.

    And what about the CPU?
    And my other question?
You should actually be able to run this game at ultra.

I installed the drivers for the integrated graphics first and then installed the drivers for the Nvidia card. The cpu is about 50 degrees idle, 55 degrees main menu screen, and after about 5 minutes of play it goes to 71 degrees

So the temps aren't the problem since they seem fine.
Are you having issues with other games?

I mainly play cs go, but other games have definitely gone down since I first got the laptop. I don't usually play minecraft, but I just reinstalled it out of curiosity and I can remember when I first got the computer on the highest settings I could get about 200-300 fps+, but now I get about 60-150 (not bad, but not good compared to my old frames)

I can't think of anything else right now other than playing with driver versions (factory, latest, and whatever else).
I'm sure someone else can help soon.

Right now, I'm using the latest. However, when I used the factory 331.xx driver, 337.xx, and 340.xx drivers, the laptop ran fine. Games were smooth despite some questionable temps.

Dell (factory) and Nvidia (the other drivers whenever I update them).
Use DDU uninstaller to uninstall the drivers.
