First of all, thanks to everyone here in this forum -- you have been an invaluable source of info and I'm sure I'll continue to ask my (probably stupid) questions of you all in the future as well.

Finally received me M14X! Ordered on July 1st, finally got here yesterday. Yay-like! So far I really do like it. The palm rest is a bit awkward in that my hands will rest on it and occasionally touch the touchpad. But other than that little niggle, so far it seems to be a good, solid keyboard and I really do like the screen. A bit on the glarry side, but no more than MacBook Pro.

Do have a question. This is my first rodeo with Windows 7. Am trying to get used to it. I installed one of those Logitech 315 (I think) wireless mouse. Instead of that longish USB dongle, I got one of those smallish/tiny USB things which fit into the USB port for it to communicate with it.

Anyway, after I shutdown Windows, it felt as it was stuck in there. At least it doesn't seem to pull out of it's slot easily. So I left it in there. Should I have manually via the tray deactivated the wireless mouse before logging/shutting the computer off? Would that have made it release the little USB thingie easier? Just wondered if it was a quirk with WIN7 or not.

Just don't want to damage anything taking it out of the USB slot.

Other than that wireless mouse issue, I really like this laptop. Can't wait to start loading some games on it!

    Thanks,
    Joe

regardless of whether you eject the mouse adapter through windows, it wont affect how tight of a fit it is in the usb slot. most probably since its a smaller adapter you migh need to apply extra pressure to get enough force to pull it out, since the part in the slot is longer than the part outside....

    Thanks for the quick reply!

Ok, will try to apply more force to get it released. I was just afraid of breaking/ruining that USB slot -- hate to do that on the 1st day of use! :) And I certainly don't recall using all that much force to slide it in there in the 1st place. Hmm.

Will try and use a bit more effort to release it next time I'm done here. Thanks again for the response.
