I'm thinking of buying the M14x and looking for a website to buy Ram because I've been told or have seen people say that Dell's Ram is over priced, should I just go for the 6GB DDR3 at 1600MHz then upgrade it later on or just get the 8GB Dual Channel DDR3 at 1600MHz?

Here's what I'm think of getting
    Core i7 2630/GT 555M 1.5 GB/1600x900/750GB 7200RPM SATA 3Gb/s/6GB DDR3 at 1600MHz
Is it worth getting this laptop?

Yeah it's worth it, can try to get a deal from a Dell Rep. You can buy ram from Newegg, the kingston hyper X, 8 gb for 100 dollars at 1600mhz. Unless you're getting a deal from dell, i suggest you buy that ram.

ditto...also check the outlet if you're not afraid of refurbs or the like to save some scratch. Could watch the deals page or places like slickdeals for coupons if you are not in a hurry. That's what I did, and love my M14x.

There are 2 deals going on the Dell's Website(Canada) and compared both of them. I made the same specs for the laptop, just the difference is the video card 3.0GB GT 555m and 1.5GB GT 555m for the other

The prices below/specs($100 coupon was added as well)
    GT 555M 1.5GB Version
    $1,582.78(Taxes included)
    Save:$219
    GT 555M 3.0GB Version
    $1,673.18(Taxes included)
    Save:$289

    Save Difference:$70
    Price Difference:$90

So is it worth paying that extra $90 for the GT 555M 3.0GB or should I just get the 1.5GB GT 555M and 6GB ram and upgrade it later on and save money?
NOTE:It is 8GB Ram with it not 6GB

    Cheapist way:
    GT 555M 1.5GB = 6GB Ram
    $1,447.18

You really don't need the 3 gb gt555m card. The performance boost from the extra 1.5 gb is marginal at best. I think it's dells way of tricking you into thinking you can get a better graphics card, when in reality it doesn't make a difference, because they couldn't place a better card in it. The stock graphics card is good enough.
