    Why does it show a max FPS of only 40? I do not have it on max settings either. I have the latest nvidea driver installed.

    How does one go about doing such a thing?

    Right click desktop - screen resolution - advanced settings - monitor. I think you need to make sure it's set at 60Hz.

    If you remove "vertical sync" option within the WoW options you will go beyond 40 fps. WoW has a soft FPS cap built in even without vertical sync which you can remove in game by typing /console maxfps 0 . This will remove the cap completely. I've seen framerates as high as 400fps. Let us know how it goes!
