My hinges finally broke (I'll order new ones soon) but in the mean time, I've been using this as a "desktop" hooked to my 24 inch monitor.

My problem is this - I've removed the LCD Assembly to repair (and I've painted it) however the laptop REFUSES to post without the LCD panel attached. I hook up the panel, let it post, then I can unplug it. But this means I cant reboot the laptop without plugging the panel in. This really cripples the already crippled laptop.

All my other Dell laptops work fine without the LCD panels attached (I've been working on Dells for over a decade now) and I'm running the risk of damaging both the laptop and the connector by continuing to do this.

Is there any BIOS Setting or something to change this behavior??

Does it POST with just the LVDS cable connected to the motherboard or does it have to be connected to the panel aswell?
Maybe disabling the IGPU in BIOS would solve this. To do this my guess is you'll need unlocked/modded BIOS.

I believe it is because the initial post looks for the LVDS cable and since it is not there it won't post.
