With Klipsch® speakers powered by Waves MaxxAudio®, the Alienware M14x sounds as good as it looks. That is what's advertised on the main page for the M14X. I've had my M14X for about 1 week.
    Upgrades from Dell:
    i7-2630QM CPU
    1600x900 HD+ Screen
    Killer Wireless-N 1103 Network Adapter
    My Upgrades:
    Kingston HyperX 8GB (2 x 4GB)
    Mushkin MKNSSDCL240GB SSD Drive

I'm very happy with the M14X except the sound is pretty normal laptop sound. I did not order the X-Fi software upgrade. I can't seem to find any MaxxAudio software anywhere. Is the system supposed to come with this software stock? Does anybody here have it? I downloaded the audo driver from dell and it still doesn't have it. Is it possible to purchase the x-fi option still?
Any help or comments is highly appreciated.

    Darryl :)

All my options for MaxxAudio are through the "Realtek HD Audio Manager" icon in the control panel.

Look up 'Realtek HD audio control panel' in windows search in the start bar, like golden80 said. There you can enable Maxx Audio

Thanks, for some reason I had to re install the driver to get it to show up in the control panel. The download from Dell did not work, I had to download it from RealTek

You and me both, I'm actually enjoying not having to carry spare speakers in my bag when traveling.

Yeah, comparing my EAX 4.0 speakers on my G72 to it.. Just.. you cant even compare. The subwoofer makes a huge difference
