    Hello

As most people know, Dell machines are often filled with unneeded junk. When I get my M14x I want to wipe it all off (or, wipe windows completely) and I'm wondering what I will need that the M14x relies on.

I plan to install Windows 7 Ultimate. Do I need any Dell/Alienware specific software to get things working from that point?

    Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Um dells might come bloated with crap but dell/alienware are light on all the extra software. Play around with it for a little bit before you decide you want to wipe it. And dont forget to make the backup respawn DVD incase you want to sell it or you want all the stuff you just wiped.

i'm surprised there isn't a sticky for all the bloatware that come with AW. as kurth said, maybe there isn't a lot to begin with. every unnecessary bit removed helps i guess.

A new SSD will be the primary drive anyway, the OS one will be wiped regardless for storage. I could probably do a clone, but I think I'd rather just start fresh.

The SSD will need the software, so I'm just wondering if anything's needed. To control the light color (Alienfx?) etc, wouldn't it need stuff for that?

    Thanks

Well, it was predictible. The OS is bloated with crap. Looks like I'll just be installing the basics with the new drive from the Dell site.
