    Download it here

It would be awesome to see some results. Mine failed install, I'm going to turn on the intel graphics chip I think that might have been the problem and will report back :)

Update Nope, seems to stop at 44% and then just reboot.

    Erro message

Update2 Still no luck I give up :)

Mine failed as well, dont really know what happened since I set it and did some other stuff around the house only to come back and see a blue screen saying my system file was missing.

Spent day doing clean install and worked now.

Oh man if it's a clean install I can't afford to do that atm. I'll prob install it come Christmas break.

    Seems pretty wide spread:

Funny thing is this was also done ona Dell.

Mine updated through the store perfectly. However, prior to the release I had downloaded the full version from Technet and upgraded over the top of stock dell install, which while it did not fail it also had all kinds of other issues; including networking issues and my laptop wouldn't go into sleep/hibernate modes. The screen would just go black and then freeze; requiring a hard reset.

After all those issues, I reinstalled Windows 8 pro from disc, installed all drivers, updated windows 8 through windows updated and then yesterday downloaded the free update through the windows store and let it do it's thing. Everything went smooth and perfect.

TLDR: Do a clean install of Windows 8.1.

Mine went smoothly on the Alienware 14. However, prior to that, it had a clean install of Windows 8. It failed three times on my HP desktop, then I gave up. I will try it on my M14xR1 over the weekend.

I am still peeved with Microsoft for not providing an ISO of the full Windows 8/8.1 install DVD. This actually may be the end of my relationship with Microsoft -- I'm not interested in a "devices and services" company, I just want software that's easy to install and maintain. The gaming community should seriously make it's move into the Linux world and Dell should be offering more options with Linux preinstalled and supported.

Glad you got it working! Seems like it's randomly failing. :S @L1qu1d, did you try it with the intel IGPU enabled?

My windows 8.1 install ok in the first attempt, however, I'm having a little issues with Broadcom Wi-Fi (sometimes doesn't detect any network) and there is a annoying message in my desktop that says that secure boot its not configured ok, I have to go to the BIOS and activate it to make it dissapear, otherwise I have no idea how to remove it

TBH I also get my wifi simply disconnecting then freezing my Network connection if I try to reconnect. I tried switching out the wifi card but it seems to still happen. Its random ...I think it's a windows 8 problem.

I had this same issue with latest drivers from Killer Wireless. I removed those and reinstalled the recommended drivers from dell's website and these issues have been resolved.

Swapped my HDD for a intel 530 ssd, and did a fresh install. 8.1 finally installed.

Also I tried using latest HD intel drivers from Alienware.ca, but it just made m screen go black, so I'm using the 8.1 drivers that installed through update instead :).

    So far so good :)

Mine installed perfectly but there seems to be a problem with the bluetooth now; it won't connect to anything.. I'll have to give that a look as soon as I have time.
