    Hi All,

So I have a question regarding the Windows 8 Upgrade Programme by Microsoft. The programme clearly states that pc's are eligible when purchased between June 2nd, and January 2013. I Ordered my Alienware M14xR2 on 30th May as I had a discount code that expired that day. The Laptop will be delivered on 8th June.

Do you think that there is any possibility that Alienware will allow me to participate in the programme, based on the fact that I'm not recieving the laptop until after the 2nd June? I'm assuming no, but just wanted to double check :D

    Windows 8 Upgrade details here

    Thanks,

    Ryan

I think the upgrade eligibility goes by the purchase date and not the delivery date. Your dell quotation would still mention that the PC was purchased in May rather than June.

Yeah that's what I thought,as it does clearly states when you purchase it on the Microsoft website, which makes sense for retail purchases, but I wasn't 100% sure on internet orders :(

Thanks anyway Guys! Looks like I might just have to fork out a few £ when it's released.

I haven't heard of anything in windows 8 that would make me upgrade even if it was only 15 dollars.

Yeah, I explicitly chose to order a new computer now while it still comes with Win7, just so I don't have to put up with Win8. Taking a pass on that one.
