Hello everyone, I'm new to the forums, I don't know if you have a "introduce yourself" section so I'm sorry for not posting there first if there is.

Now that thats out of the way. I own a M14x with 4gigs of RAM, so my question is, Will upgrading my 4 gigs of memory to 8 gigs ( Newegg.com - Kingston HyperX 8GB (2 x 4GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1600 HyperX Plug n Play Laptop Memory Model KHX1600C9S3P1K2/8G) Increase my frame rates, multitasking, or anything else of significant importance? Also, Will upgrading my hard drive to an SSD help with performace as well? Thanks for any help!

well if the ram has a higher speed then it will give you a slight performance boost but nothing substantial for gaming, every day usage you will notice things a little faster or if you use vmware alot like me you will notice a big difference

it all depends on how much you multitask, i have 4gb and i virtualize windows 8 or linux on my laptop and i watch a movie on an external monitor with vlc deinterlacing at max and i get a slight lag but not enough to irritate me, but with games such as bf3 skyrim or any other major game i still have about 30% ram left over while in game, in the long run it will benifit you but its just a personal thing, im gonna wait a little longer before i upgrade

or since its the holidays look for a good deal on newegg.com or tigerdirect.com or anywhere else, im sure you will find a great deal, then it would definitely be worth it

closing programs running in the background, dropping the resolution a little, turn off the anti analisting, drop the shaders from max settings to one step below to just high, or the best way is to overclock the gpu, and if your really brave you can get the modified bios that svl7 made that increases the voltage on the gpu, its what i do

very simple, if you are using the regular bios download msi after burner, and slide the core speed to about 750 or 770, which ever runs stable for you and thats it, your games will be much faster

yep thats all, simple stuff, with afterburner you cant go too high so you could slide everything to the max and its fine but some people say 750 is the most stable but its very easy
