I just got this backpack Newegg.com - Ogio Lucas Casual Active Street Pack

It's really nice. The laptop part of the backpack is way better than 90% of the backpacks I have seen out there that are made for laptops. Its a solid compartment and well padded. Plus alot of room for books etc but the backpack doesn't look massive.

A regular ol back pack? I would really get any of the Alienware ones. Looks a little nerdy.

I've had this one for 3 years and it's excellent. Dedicated laptop pocket, another pocket for other stuff (i've used it for lunch, books, clothes, whatever) and a smaller front pocket for calculator, pens/pencils, etc. etc. The top pouch is nice to store headphones, flash drive in; front pouch is nice for storing easy-access stuff (snacks, etc. while in class). Side holsters for drink + umbrella.

2nd vote Orion. I have had the large one for well over a year. Works great even for my work notebook.

For the Alienware Orion M14x Backpack, I don't want to be carrying a pack with the alienware logo so explicitly displayed. I'm paranoid that if I'm at a public place and I put it down it will get stolen. Everyone will know there is an expensive laptop inside! I think it's for people who just want to show off.
