    I am meeting with the current owner of an M14x R2 on Thursday and I was wondering what tests I should run before closing the deal?

    Since it's an Alienware m14x r2 that you're checking, I would suggest going to the AlienAutospy program and view the "performance and configuration history." I would look out for the "Critical events" and explore what caused them (if any).

    In case the guy doesnt have AlienAutopsy, you can also use the Event Viewer, but it will be a little bit more complicated to read, but you'd know "Critical Events" when you scroll down the list, as they are usually have the Exclamation Mark (!) next to the report.

    be warned with event viewer there will be alot of "errors" in there that r normal

    I purchased it today from him for $1,100. The warranty is good through June 13, 2013 :) and it is almost brand new, he has not even gamed on it yet!
