Basically, every laptop has some base under the hood, i.e. dell's are made by msi or clevo etc.

what is the maker and model under the alienware stuff?
im sure this is an old question but could not find anything

    Cheers,
    -TheHans

Alienware used to be based on Clevo, before there where taken over by dell.
As far as I konw, Dell does their "own base", so Dell's are made by Dell.

I think it was designed by Dell, but it is made by Compal. I could be wrong, that is what I have read previously.

actually no, I'm just curious. I'm pretty certain what i will buy (m14x). I was just wondering.
Anyone knows where they manufacture? China? if so where?

only thing that really bugs me is the damn glossy screen (and i dont wanna mess with protectors...) but thats ok then - though god i wish they had a matte option...

but yeah m14x is one of the sweetest out there, especially if you (like me) are a 14inch fanatic

    anyway, barebone factory location, anyone?

if the screen is a problem look into a clevo laptop as they offer many different screen options, i have a 95% gamlut screen on mine. and its matte it's the best.

I dont mind the glossy so much on these. The hard plastic over it isn't as bad as if it were the glossy pliable stuff used on most other LCD panels with gloss screens. It's more like having a window over the screen rather than a plastic coating.

If they were made in the USA they'd still cost like $5000
