    What do you think to leave the cd slot blank?

    As the title says, Leaving the cd slot blank might reduce the weight of m14x. But will it work considering the inside is empty? Im afraid leaving that space blank might break the outer case.

    Besides what you have already mentioned, one side of the laptop will be heavier than the other.

    The weight of the drive is so minimal, you wouldn't notice any difference either way. No point in removing it unless you are putting in a spare hard drive.
