    Weird Ticking Noise?!

    Hey everyone,

    Came across an odd issue with my m14x, want to know if it is common or not.

    Okay, so the fans tend to kick in randomly, everyone knows that, its just cooling. Especially if ur internet is going in and out.

    What is very weird is that my computer makes a weird ticking sound right as the fan spools up. The sound is 3 ticks in very close proximity right when the fans kick in, on regular web browsing. :eek:

    I'm worried that components are hitting together.

    Any chance you guys think i should try contacting as part of my warrenty? :confused:

    Difficult decision there. Alienware repair service? Bomb squad disposal service? Does name plate on bottom read alla akbar? :D

    I would call Alienware about it first. the others showing up just might be more service than you need :eek:

    hey man.. mine does that wierd sound when the fan starts up too.. i find it wierd.. but i dunno. the fan works flawlessly. :S

    mine does the EXACT SAME THING. thought i was the only one. i never worried about it, i kinda like it sounds like an alien hahah

    Its actually normal - it have been several post about this, mine just did make that sound. :)

    @everyone

    thanks for making me feel good, got scared for a minute lol.

    I noticed it does it worse when its on battery so if it annoys you so much then try to stay plugged in. Mine is actually pretty okay and doesn't make the noise everytime i open an application, but even if it did the sound doesn't bother me a load.
