Ok, before people scream search I have to say I have already tried to search for this issue. My webcam flickers blue in any light situation. I know I have seen this being discussed back when it was first released but using the search terms "webcam" and "m14x webcam" did not pull up anything. Is this fixable or do I have to get a replacement system?

Also, does anyone else have a tough time getting the synaptics pad to recognize the vertical scrolling on the right side? I enabled it obviously but it takes a lot of force to get it to work and when it does it isn't accurate.

I still love this laptop, just hate these annoying items that shouldn't be an issue for a 1300 unit.

For the web cam download Skype and go into tools-options-video options-webcam settings- then un auto white balance. on the touch pad I have read that some m14x you have to scroll slightly to the right not all the way on the edge.

So I should just delete this Live webcam application then and go with Skype?

And I'm beginning to think this thing just has a garbage touch pad, I don't use it all that much but even with the Scribe drivers its still awful.

    Thanks.

for webcam, you should do whatever kingtairon said.. there is no need to uninstall livewebcam.. problem with it is the livewebcam didn't have the option.. once you did that with other software that have it's fine..

for scrolling.. you should check if you have some of the enhance feature on.. for example.. there is one feature call Coasting and another one call Edgemotion.. under Long Distance Scroll.. what it does is with one swipe.. it continues scroll to that direction until you touch the pad again.. it might gives the impression that it's not accurate.. then i realize i have it on i started to "KNOW" how to use it.. or you can turn it off and stick to the basic...

for more information.. mouseover the "More Info" of the feature in alientouch.. yes.. just mouseover.. don't click or double click..

so glad that i found this post, cause i was afraid that my laptop which just arrived yesterday had a faulty webcam and that I'd have to go through the painstaking process of getting a replacement. :D
