I seem to be having a problem with the temps on my machine right now. Right now, with only google chrome, itunes, and my temp monitoring program, my processor is running from 72-82C!

I've never had this problem before now. It's not running on a cooler and turbo boost is off, but temps should NOT be this high on this light of a load. I'm kind of scared. I've had my m14x for about 3 weeks, so I really doubt it's dust build up or wear on the parts.

I would try to look in control panel for processes using high CPU percentage. I had this and found an audio process running stuck at 20% at all time. Re-installing the audio driver fixed it.

    Good luck.

I'm thinking it's iTunes. I just installed it about 10 minutes ago, and whenever I start it the fans kick up and my temps go up a good 20-30 degrees.

Do you know how to fix this? It's kind of a pain. It's partially making me regret my decision of an iPhone over an Android.

Fun fact: Your processor will jump to the mid 90's when performing a software update on your iPhone 4. And even a repaste won't make those temps normal.

Not to mention, I haven't the slightest clue how to repaste. The concept of repasting myself is slightly frightening. And you can't alternate programs with an iPhone, it requires iTunes.

Dell will cover it under warranty I believe, I asked them once and they said they would. I have accidental warranty though so it may be different. I will be calling tomorrow for them to fix a problem with my machine and possibly repaste

Was trying to figure out why my cpu temps were idling at 90c. The culprit was itunes. Exited the program and now they're idling around 55c. Time to see if there's a fix for this b/c I use Itunes a lot.

If you ask me, this fiasco just reminds me of how bloatware-ey iTunes is.
