Warranty upgrade to 3 years is around £250, do you guys thinks its essential?
or is the alienware built resilient?

    Has yours broken often?

for myself i will probably keep the 1 year. if something doesn't happen to your laptop the first year and you baby it and care for it then its probably not gonna mess up after the first year. however i have heard of some that have had 3 years and there laptop messed up on the third year and they got a replacement.

Why buy the premium laptop if you're not going to get insurance for it? Would you buy a Rolls Royce without car insurance?

I have advanced warranty for several years. Very expensive but I plan on using this laptop for a minimum of 2 years and probably 3 or more. If games improve during that time I will just buy a desktop in between.

    PROS:
    1) Free repair for 3 years if something goes wrong.
    2) Better resale value incase you want to move onto something else since the product is still covered in warranty.
    3) Peace of mind that Dell is going to foot the bill for expensive replacements such as Mobos, Display , CPU etc.

    Cons:
    1) expensive

Though I personally do not think that this beautiful machine is going to fail , but this is the thing about electronics. you can never be sure. Which is why I purchased the 2 year extension . If its not too heavy on your pocket, i would strongly urge you to go ahead and buy it. Protects your investment ;)

Well tbh, last month my HDD fail of just using it for only 3 months, and it is not because of the computer, because all electronic product can fail at any second without warning. So it is better safe then sorry, I actually called Dell 2 months ago to extend the warranty from 1 to 2 years, and it cost my 129NZD which I think it is a reasonable price.

And since I receive the laptop, I've been replacing 3 subwoofer and one HDD, the replacement of subwoofer is because of the first 2 time I did an experiment on it which cause the subwoofer to blow up while the third one is because of being careless. The HDD is like I say, it fail on its own. If without the warranty that would cause me lots of money.

It is for reasons like these that we pay extra dough for warranty extension.
