I know that m14x has optimus and the intel hd 3000/4000 but I noticed the WEI score of some showing both 7+ on graphics and gaming graphics and some have a 5+ on graphics because of the intel card and 7+ for the dedicated nvidia gpu.

The confusion here is why some m14x r1 or r2 users have 7.0+ scores on both the graphics and gaming graphics? Did they somehow turn off optimus to force the dedicated gpu to run on WEI? Or are they using a driver that does not support Optimus?

Why are some m14x have 5.0+ score on graphics and some get 7.0+ on both graphics and gaming score?

What is going on here? Can anyone clear this up please.

There's several things that may influence the results when running WEI on optimus units, you mentioned some before; it could be drivers, or users who don't have the nVidia graphics processor set as global default.

On the other hand, i'd recommend using benchmarks if what you want is to make sure your card is working at its 100%

Here's some more info about Nvidia Optimus Technology

Thanks for the reply. I understand what you are saying but i still need some input on this to why some are getting the 5.2-5.5 score in graphics WEI score when some are getting the same score like their gaming graphics of 7.1+ and up.

I don't think you fully understand. :) As he said:
If the Intel integrated graphics are being used when the test is run (the default configuration, designed to save power when high performance graphics are not needed), the test results give the lower score. If the Nvidia GPU is set to be active all the time (at the cost of battery life), you get the higher score. Having the higher number showing in the test doesn't affect anything. When higher graphics performance is required, the Optimus feature switches to the higher performing Nvidia GPU. Again, it really means nothing other than numbers on that screen, because gaming, etc, will have the same performance regardless of that number.

I understand what you are saying. So how do you get the same score for the gaming graphics and graphics then? How exactly do you force the nvidia gpu to run the WEI so the score is both the same for gaming and graphic? I understand that it has nothing to do with it having problems or like you said it doesn't affect anything, but how do the others make the graphics wei score the same as the gaming one?
