So I got the 500 GB hard drive with my m14x. It's about the only think I regret; not opting for the 750 GB. Not that I'm even close to using up all 500 GB, but it would be nice to have that extra breathing room.

So essentially, I was wondering, how do I go through the process of changing out hard drives? I know there's a teardown/upgrade guide on this forum, so I know where to look when I'm actually doing it. But nonetheless; is there a way I can just transfer over all the files, or will I have to manually re-install all my files? I have all the Alienware discs that shipped with my system, and I know I can replace my optical drive with a SSD (which I'm considering). But the whole process is foreign to me.

When I replaced the 500GB with 750GB Momentus XT2, I used Acronis True Image Home 2012 and I cloned the old HD to the new.

Then off M14x, changed HD and powered M14x was ok.

    Hi : Cool:
