    Hi all,

The battery in my Alineware 14 has failed and since I only use it on the desk and plugged in I do not have any intentions of replacing it, that is a lot of money to spend for something I will not use.

I am having issues with my system and I keep getting told I need to update my BIOS as it is a very old version.

I can not update because every time I try it says my battery must be 10%. I have tried the /forceit with cmd prompt. I have tried to load it via DOS by loading DOS at startup from a flash drive. Either way it still will not let me do it.

Does anyone know another workaround that can allow me to update my BIOS?

    Thanks!!

    Sam

I was able to do it by loading native DOS via a thumb drive, putting the BIOS update on the thumb drive then running it from the command prompt there with /forceit at the end.

The /forceit did not work from within Windows with CMD even running with admin. It did however work running DOS from a thumb drive using RUFUS to make a bootable USB with DOS on it.
