    USB host controllers?

    Am I correct in assuming the m14x has 2 separate controllers?

    I believe so. USB drives work out of the box on the left port, but the right ports don't work until you install the 3.0 drivers.

    Then it's almost certainly 2 controllers. One sure fire way to check is opening up device manager...but I'm convinced. Thanks.

    The USB3.0 controller is a seperate controller. While it's backwards compatible with USB2.0, it needs drivers before it can work in Windows.
