Hi, I just bought an Alienware M14x.

For the laptop, there are two headphone jacks.

Both of them seems to work well when I plug them in one at a time. However, when I plug two headphones in, the one closer to me goes mute.

Is there a way so that both headphones are on simultaneously?

    Thanks

I have a set of speakers and headphones hooked up and they have always worked simultaneously for me.
Not sure what's wrong but I'd check your control panel first and check sound properties to make sure the jacks are working/recognized.

for me both work at the same time.

make sure you got the correct drivers etc.. looks like a driver or Layer 8 fault to me

try reinstalling the drivers from dell's website. i had this problem when trying to route a different signal through each output. also try disabling other audio devices that are not in use. weird stuff can happen when audio resources are beyond logic.
