For everyone wondering how to turn off all lights including the touchpad...Right click the alienfx system tray icon, select quick change, and choose the color...you guessed it...black.

That turns off the whole Touch Pad though, not just the light.

Even better, uncheck the "Keep status zones on during go dark" and you won't have to mess with your colors and the touchpad light will turn off with the alienfx hotkey.

Go to the Command centre and change the LED colour to Black for the T-Pad.

I am unable to select black for the touchpad and this was also mentioned in one of the reviews I've read on this laptop. Disabling the touchpad's light would've been the first thing I would've done after I got my laptop today... :p

Unchecking the status zones when going dark works for me, downside is, you lose the wifi/caps lock indicator, and the power button indicator too :p

yeah u are right, wifi/caps is black also
    this works for me:

    1. Uncheck keep estatus zones on during GO Dark
    2. Quick Change > Black
    3. Then open the Alien FX Editor, select wifi/caps and put the color you want

    :D

I solved this writing my own code with the given APIs. It is possible to create an exe to run at login that control the lights of the keyboard instead of the alienFX. :D

the main advantage is that you can choose color, dim etc and so turn off whatever you want.

    Keep Coding! ;)

This is the same thing as going dark.

Too bad you can't select black as a color for the track pad in the Control Center.

The easiest way I found to do this is to modify the .ath file of the themes I want without the trackpad lit. They are located in the documents folder under AlienFx\Themes by default.

Right click on a theme and open with a text editor (I used Notepad++). Search for < ZoneID >8 (remove the spaces inside the < > signs as I added those to avoid post format). Change the nested Color1 and Color2 elements to #00000000, save and exit. Load the theme in AlienFX and no trackpad light.
