i took apart my m14xr1 last week and found that 99% of my fan was covered in dust. i could literally take the dust off in sheets. i repasted my gpu and cpu, and now my temps are around 70s-80s, before it was 80s-95. I ALSO DISABLED TURBO BOOST, which is the best thing i have done to my M14x so far. since i have disabled it, my fan isnt quite as loud, my temperatures have lowered, my FPS has actually gone UP in some games (GTA 4, LA Noire, MINECRAFT (lagged like hell before), black ops, flash games, etc.) no games have had a lowered FPS and i am really happy. i suggest everyone to TURN OFF their turbo boost for best gaming experience :) and also clean your fans!
