I'm currently installing drivers for my M14x with a Crucial M4 256GB SSD. I only want the necessary software so I'm wondering if the touchpad driver is really necessary (it's recommended by DELL)

The touchpad works without installing a driver and if it's just extra features like launching custom apps etc. it would be pretty pointless.

    Thanks.

does give you additional options, setting touch to click, two finger scrolling. I use top left for back, top right for forward during browsing. Automatically switches touchpad on and off when using external mouse.

Depends whether you want any of these features?

Trust me, the drivers make the touchpad soooo much better.

seriously 32mb? well for that id sacrifice 32 megs for a much better scrolling expirience, any hardware have a driver for some reason, its like if u pay for a car but you dont want car wheels because it will make it 1" taller, and insted use bike wheels even if the car goes much slower with the bike wheels
