    Hi,
So I keep seeing people on these forums having issues with gaming, throttling etc on the r1 (and kinda on the r2).
It also seems for every thread there seems to be someone suggesting complaining to Dell and getting an upgrade to an r2. I have the accidental warranty for another year and am having heating/throttling issues.

So my question is, what can I actually complain/say is wrong? Realistically the laptop works, just not as well as I had hoped.

    Thanks everyone!

    What.

I haven't actually seen a thread where someone got an upgrade. Under warranty Dell will only replace up to the original value of the PC - which I don't believe is the R2. If there is nothing wrong with your computer you have no case.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, which is why I was confused. Maybe I have just been reading people's posts wrong.

if you invest actual energy and do research to build a case, they will upgrade you to an r2. don't be so lazy.

I'm not trying to be lazy, I simply don't understand what you can argue?
How can people argue for a r2 when their computer's still work?

    Thanks for your kind reply.

You appear to have done zero research, though. If you had, the r1 issues should be blindingly obvious. What you're doing is coming here and asking us to tell you how to get an r2. It took over 6 months of effort to get mine, and it's not uncommon for other customers to also fight for months. If you are not running into any performance issues with the r1, then you probably don't stress it that hard and things might be fine for a while. If you start to notice dropped frames and other signs of throttling, then you may have a real case to build.

Oh, I see, sorry about my reply. I have actually done some research etc and have been experiencing throttling/heating issues.
What I meant by my original question is that, is it actually possible to argue with Dell over just loss of FPS and such. Seeing as it is a recurring issue across the system, I got the impression when talking with them that an actual fault would be needed for them to care or consider fixing anything. As in, if I contacted them now, I would simply be run through a few tests and told my computer still works.

So what I was wondering is if I 'build up' my case, would these kind of issues be enough to get any attention from Dell?

    Thanks,
