Do you find the M14x leaps and bounds overall better then the M11x for overall performance, comfort (keyboard, screen) for example..... I currently have a M11x that I use mostly just for work and portability having a computer available outside of my house and I really just love everything about the M11x EXCEPT I do not enjoy playing Rift on my M11x. Is the M14x much better for gaming overall? how about everything else? I am considering buying a M14x but I am very happy with my M11x for the most part and want to make sure I will love the M14x as well

Thanks in advance for your comments and opinions

Also I may consider trying to convince my wife to sell her M17x and I sell my M11x and we both get M14x :)

There's a thread somewhere for negotiating w/ Dell, you might find deals there. When I ordered there was a $50 coupon, plus my EPP discount, still wasn't much, but better than retail.

The jump from M11X to M14X is definitely a big one. You won't be able to (as comfortably) hold your laptop with one hand as with the 11, but the comfort and difference in screen size was definitely worth it for me :)

The difference in power is hugely noticeable as well.

I play dota on my main desktop with 27" monitor every week. For once I went to mate's lan party using m11x, f* me, it just impossible to play any serious competitive networked games using m11x, the screen is way too small.

Casual gaming seems to be fine on m11x, when my flight was delayed in Moscow I played mw2 (you know which mission) in the terminal cafe it was very entertaining.

It's leaps and bounds better. The biggest thing for me is the screen size, but on top of that it performs much better also.

I mean m11x. It is fine if you want relax and pwn some AI heads on the go. It much more funnier than watching the views outside the train, especially in Britain it is raining 70% of times :D

But if you want to be king of online competitive gaming, you wouldn't want to face the 11 inch screen for more than 30 continuous mins. The Lan party nearly break my spine, need to lean forward all the time to see the details on screen

Agreed to all had the m11x r2 i7 with the momentus xt 500 gig hard drive, and the m14x is just amazing. Much smoother. For some reason I always felt as if the processor was the bottle neck that just made the machine bizarrely lag. However for portability without a doubt the m11x had a lot more going for it. The m14x looks like its on stoids compared to any other 15 inch laptop even :p

hmmm, I'm also considering the jump, as I play a LOT of SC2 with friends, however, I am gonna check out how much better the SB CPU of the R3 m11x is, first...

I imagine SC2 would be a lot more enjoyable on the 14" screen, let alone the performance difference.

Ah, well.... the screen is a given :p
o.0 after some 200 hours logged in SC2, I should be legally dead :D

j/k :p, I'm considering moving the the m14x so I don't have to be tied to my desktop for a lot of things, including Softimage, which out benefit greatly from an SB Quad core (even though the 1600x900 screen is still a lither cramped for Softimage).

EDIT: hmmm.... looks like I already made my decision, now about the battery... :(
