Hi guys. I probably should have posted it in some earlier post but they are all mixed up and it was really hard for me to decide whether a permanent solution was arrived upon or not.

Recently, while working on a software, My laptop showed a blue screen. Upon restart, My NVIDIA card was not detected. I restarted and went to BIOS to confirm if it was hardware issue or just windows. In BIOS, under the dedicated GFX row , it said : "not detected".

I started my windows, uninstalled every single component of NVidia from control panel. Nothing complicated but the usual way to uninstall stuff from windows. I deleted no registry and used no other software to force drivers.
I then updated my BIOS to A08 and voila. My GT555M was detected.

I guess its some BIOS problem with the GT555M. I don't know if it was upgrading from A05 to A08 worked or that a simple re-writing of BIOS made the problem go away.

Those of you still stuck with this problem, if you are on A05, uninstall Nvidia driver from control panel and upgrade t A08. and those who are already on A08, maybe you can try Flashing back to A05 and see if its detected . If not, flash again to A08.

Oh and yes, i am using 290.53 version. Ignore this post if things already worked out for your system. I am just putting my experience in here for those who are still facing this problem.

If updating the BIOS fix the problem, then I think the problem is the BIOS is somehow corrupted after that BSOD, so yeah, you might be able to fix it by reflashing the same BIOS again, as for me, I never have any problem with the A05 BIOS though.
