Hey all , just wondering if anyone got some keys from Alienware or preorder and are trying out the beta ? The game is really fun and the combat is something i'm digging it's a breath of fresh air for MMO's .

Performance on my m14x is so so , want to compare with you guys to make sure i got everything set up ok (White listed , High performace is on etc etc)

People in the channel seem to have good FPS and even after messing with the settings the FPS are not acceptable for the M14x

Normally around 30-35 fps in Kingsmouth, medium settings, fullscreen at 1600x900.
(Low at 20 and high at 40 fps.)

I have done nothign ot optimise, recently reinstalled Windows 7, using current Nvidia driver with nothing changed in the configuration.

I haven't tried it on my m14x yet (just going to install the final game on it), but judging from my desktop, it is a VERY demanding game.

My desktop has a 4.2 GHz 2500K CPU, 8GB RAM, and a GeForce 560ti. It easily blows through pretty much everything else out there on ultra settings, but I have to tune Secret World down a bit to keep the FPS fluid.

Part of it might be the engine, part of it might just be because it's beta and has additional debug processes running, but I wouldn't be surprised if the m14x struggles with this one.

Made some tweaks here and there and on High i get around 30-40 FPS , it's playable and still looks quite pretty. It IS a demanding game and it's a shame that i doubt performance improves so much since the games comes out in 2 -3 weeks? .

On the other hand I played it in low details, before changing to moderate for the reply to this post, without missing out on the eyecandy. Still beautiful and really nice world.

As I said before, there is usually (but not always) a performance increase from MMO betas to the retail client, because the beta client usually has additional debug processes running for testing purposes, as well as usually to collect metrics on player activity. The retail build won't have those.

So don't count it out yet.
