Hello everyone, I decided to join to see if I can't get any real feedback (not google search help) on my temp issue for my M14x. First off my computer is 3 years old (about); Specs are as follows (sorry if I missed anything)

    M14x R1
    Windows 7 (64)
    i5-2410M @ 2.3 GHz
Intel HD 3000 integrated graphics 2gb
    NVIDIA GeForce GT 555m 1.5gb
    6gb ram @ 1333mhz
I have the latest BIOS (A08) and drivers (I believe so)

My problem that brought me here was my temps were maxing at 103C for the CPU and 87C for the GPU when gaming (Skyrim). This alarmed me so I repasted/changed thermal pads (MX-4) and cleaned out the entire computer. Needless to say the thermal paste was a mess and dust bunnies had multiplied and clogged like rabbits XD. I took care of that but my temps still are bothering me (though they are MUCH BETTER) and I'm not sure if they're were they are supposed to be. After Pasting/cleaning I haven't seen CPU above 87C or GPU above 75C.
P.S. also got a cheapo non-branded cooling pad, but this is more to get if off of laps/surfaces than anything else.
Here are my current temps after a stress test.
P.S.S - Temps idle between 48-55C for cpu and 40-50c for GPU

    Thanks in advance!

Edit: Also battery wear at 34% =/, should I change it? (I rarely take my comp off the AC adapter)

They look a lot better now, you now need to focus on the environment. Do you use a cooling pad ? It could help you to drop a couple more degrees that temp.

I do, but like I said in my original post, it's a non-branded cheap one I mainly got to get the laptop a few inches off any surface. I might need to invest in a better one. The specs I could find of it are: Single 20cm diameter fan @ 1500 rpm. 12.91 x 12.6 x 1.38" LWH dimensions.
My room temp is unfortunately controlled by my college dorm and is anywhere from 70-78F. Avg about 76F.

Those temps looks perfect for me. In my m14x r1 sometimes I can get 90C spikes for the cpu and 75C spikes for the gpu when heavy gaming. The idle temps are identically to my laptop. My m14x is about 2 and a half years old, repasted and new pads about 6 months ago. Also to take into consideration is the ambient temp where I live, which is close to 100F most of the time.

Awesome to hear that mine is within acceptable and comparable ranges! Thanks! I removed the ram cover on mine just today and it seems to have overall lowered temps by 2-3C too.
