    Hey,

Before I start, I do have an antivirus and am very careful in general. Recently though, my laptop is just slowed way down. To the point where it feels like a Celeron.

Game still working fine, but the over all experience in Windows is bad. Could it be the HDD?

I'm getting either the 750 Momentus XT tomorrow or the 240 GIG Corsair SSD (most likely the momentus)

My Cpu idles at 47 degrees, and when I'm in task manager my CPU usage is under 10% and my Ram is only about 25% used.

Most likely my HDD? Spyware? Viruses?

    :(

    Thanks!

    P.S

Oh and if I restart the system is does tend to actually run better, but still takes forever to fully load and its still not what it use to be.

Sometimes if you just have time with your windows installation, the system start to feel "lazy", if there were a problem with the HDD your games will run slow too, they use a lot the HDD, and could be a virus, spyware too, if it was gradual its more likely that maybe you need a fresh install of windows n_n

Go to "Intel Driver Update Utility" Update the Intel Graphics Driver and any others that are needed. The Intel Graphics Driver update makes windows feel snappier.

Check in task manager and make sure there isn't something running in the background using all your resources. ;)

Yeah I checked, that was first thing I checked lol. I did a reformat and am running OCZ 90 GB SSD.

Seems to be running fine :)

Thanks anyways guys, I'm going to call dell and ask them to replace heat sync and my stupid piece that surrounds the keyboard...which they never understand what I'm talking about the first 100 times. then they forget to order it LOL!

Now they said they don't offer any onsite tech anymore I have to send it in...sigh! we'll see!

Well it runs much faster, now even my gpu after switching to SSD idles at 40 degrees, which before it use to be 46 etc. Dell just incase and for all my trouble are sending me new Motherboard with new GPU and new heat sink, I bought some arctic silver 5 to put on the heat sink :)

Changing the SSD might just be a coincidence that the gpu is lower, but it just seems like the laptop also vibrates less!

once my Drive Bay comes in I will be putting in a 128 gig SSD and taking out the CD drive :).

Also hopefully 8 gigs of extra ram will help my laptop not slow down drastically when I extra 8 gigs + zip files.

Now only thing I'm worried about is, my current GPU can OC like crazy, 770 core and 1100 Memory, I just don't want to get a GPU that can barely do 700 :S

    Works faster and great!

    also cooler!

    Idles now 42-45 CPU

    idles GPU 37-40 :)
