I've been following all the talks and discussions with SSD in m14x and I personally have used a few of the SSD in combination with BIOS A05, 07, 08. I would want to see if anyone out there who is able to get their system stable using SSD with SATA3 in BIO A05.
I've tested out few of the SSDs (OCZ Vertex3, Kingston HyperX, Samsung 830). When I have my SSD SATA3 capable drive running in A05 BIOS w/o Intel RST driver, it perform exceptionally well with the drive promised SATA3 speed. However, I would get repeated errors in Windows 7 System log
Event ID 11
Source: atapi
Message: The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Ide\IdePort0
For those who did get their system stable with A05, can you verify if you do/do not get the above error? If you do not, did you install windows any differently (e.g. using Intel's F6 driver?)
Thanks

Pic1. I get the same 100000 times a day lol.
Pic2. This is funny too, but sometimes it shows UDMA 6.
I think both are just some Win7 reporting issues.Attached Files:

Thats good to hear that I am not alone. Though that speed drops on the drive to ATA4 (I also experience at times), I found that it does seem to make a difference as the computer takes longer to access my drives than usual.

Ive had 3 of these since my reinstall about a week ago. Never actually causes any issues though. I'm not running RST, just standard Intel Chipset drivers, Windows 7 Pro 64 Sp1

I get a load of these atapi errors with my Force GT, using BIOS A08. No idea why and there isn't any obvious performance or stability problem.

has already been discussed 1000 times that the m14x dont runs smooth with sata 3, i prefer stability so i got a sata 2 drive and have no clues but its up to everybody if he prefers speed>stability

I get the event id 11 as well, about once a day. Running a05 with an 830, w/o rst. Do those using a08 not get this event id regularly?
-
They wont get it, as A08 disables SATA3 speeds

Believe me, I get the Atapi probably more than a hundred times a day now that I have the SSD. Doesn't bother me though, as long as it doesn't kill my computer.
