I am having some trouble with my SSD drive so am planning to return it and would like to just go back to my original SATA drive that I received with the computer. Can I just stick that one back in and have it work or will I have to do something to it first?

Also, how do I erase the SSD?

What I wold do is make sure I have the latest SSD firmware, latest Bios installed through right click 'run as administrator', search Crucial forums. I have not tried putting in my old HDD to see the difference.

are you using Intel's Rapid storage program/drivers?

I had a few crashes that appeared to be SSD related on my computer until I installed the latest (I think 10.5 as opposed to 10.3?) on my computer. since then I've been rock solid.

I just did a search on how to upgrade BIOS and that looks pretty serious, like if I messed it up it would wreck the computer? EEK.

I'm think I remember that I was not completely updated on the firmware for the SSD. Maybe I will try that next.

I will also check into the intel rapid storage program/drivers. I am not sure whether I use these. I put on whatever was recommended on the thread on here about clean install. Actually, I'll find that thread now!

Thanks for your help! (I pretty much have until tomorrow or Thursday at the latest to return this if I am going to).
