Between last night and this morning (laptop was turned off) I've gone from ~40fps to 6fps on World of Warcraft.

I though 40fps was pretty bad to begin with as I thought my laptop would be reasonably good (M14x R2) but I just put up with it. I've updated the drivers but to no avail.

I'm not the most technical person so I'm not sure what else I can do to rectify this, so anyone help is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

Hi. Please be sure that you are trying to play with AC conector is correctly plugged to your laptop. It might sound silly, but it happened to me once :D

Go to a place outside the main city w/o people and watch your fps via fraps and just focus on it and see if your fps stays or dips after a few minutes.

For example, if the steady fps is 40fps and if that changes below 10fps after a few minutes then you have throttling issues. Remember do not move and just stay in 1 spot

It's now working again, though I haven't done anything whatsoever.

Thanks Colpolite, I'll do that asap.
