    Hi;

    Does anyone get some strange marks appearing on the LCD when pressing the back cover of the screen??

    When I press the back cover right in the middle, I get some bruising appearing in the center of the LCD and then disapearing :confused: , it's more visible on black background and I don't have to press hard at all...

    yes.. it's the contact of the front panel with the actual LCD panel.. it appears to be some sticky clean surface in contact.. like what you see when u sticking screen protector on any screen.. the m14x gap between the screen and keyboard while close is damn close.. when i put my superthin mousepad inside.. the side rubber that are suppose to contact isnt' touching.. so one i put some pressure on the top while the panel was close (unintentionally).. and straight open it.. i see that mark slowly disappearing (un-sticking)...

    i think all plastic biuld panel are slidely flexible.. my fujitsu is way more flexible than this. alluminium back would be nicer.. oh well..

    Yea, I've noticed it too. I think my problem is that I put the laptop inside a backpack along with a bunch of books, and the back of the screen was being pushed against the laptop, creating the bruising effect.

    It also slightly happen sometimes when you just bend the screen. It's the back surface of the laptop touching the lcd panel.

    You will have the same result if you put a finger on the display and press, on every lcd panel.

    oh i think it's different..it's not the "liquid distortion" effect of lcd... m14x don't have this problem cause the front panel is blocking us to touch the actual lcd.. (unless i press damn hard).. and because the m14x have an extra panel.. it's a mark when the front panel come in contact with the lcd panel..

    I actually get the liquid distortion when pressing the back of the LCD under the alien head with the screen open.

    That's what I'm talking about. If you pay attention it should slightly happen even when you bend the screen, since some pressure is applied to the back when you do that.

    Do you have a 720p or 900p screen?

    It does happen when I bend the screen as well, I have the 900p on my M14x.

    Thanks Marcymaru, it's reassuring to know that it happens to others as well :D, I also noticed that you had your M14x replaced, did you have the same liquid distortion with the first one as well?? Is your screen a 900p?

    Yep, same thing with my first M14x, but that was not the reason for the replacement. ;)

    No worries though, it should be a common widespread thing, I was just curious if it happens only on 720p (like mine), but obviously the 900p has the same "feature".
