Well, about 6 days until I receive my first gaming laptop, turning me from a casual Xbox gamer and high frequency PC user, to a casual PC gamer and an even higher frequency PC user. Because this computer is sexy. Found out that after I finished all my work for my parents paying it off, I miscalculated some stuff, and have about 67 dollars left over, so just enough to buy a new game right away with my computer, otherwise I was just going to play a lot of TF2, Combat Arms, and Portal. But now I have enough for one game, I have to make a decision.

I have played the Crysis 2 online demo on Xbox, I really liked it, but after a while, the same 2 maps got boring, but the gameplay was definitely something I liked. I liked how it combined what I liked from Black Ops and what I liked from Halo Reach to make something what I thought was better. But, I never did buy it for Xbox.

Now Starcraft 2. I have fond memories of this game when I was 7. My older brother burned me a copy of Brood War, and we would always team up, I always chose Zerg, because I thought they were cool, I would always die first, my brother would always get angry that I sucked so bad. Good times. But now I am interested in this too, I played for a match or two at my cousins house, it was fun, but he kept taking control whenever I did something wrong, which was annoying, and I lost both games obviously, because it was the first couple times playing. But I like strategy, I have a IQ over 132, so it is fun and after I get the hang of those things I do exceed in them.

So basically, tell me what you think I should get, Starcraft 2 or Crysis 2. Or, another game you think I would like, remember that multiplayer is important to me. Second, which will run faster, or will they run the same, I don't know if it makes a difference, first time PC gamer, but should I get it through Steam or just get the CD from Target? Thanks guys!

I would go with SC2, it requires skill to get good and they always add new maps without having to shell out 15 bucks. It runs pretty smooth on the M14x, as far as getting a cd or steam well that depends on you. Most ISP have bandwidth caps, if that's not a issue for you then go digital. You can get the cd and create a ISO of the game save it to your hard drive and put the hard copy somewhere safe so it doesn't get damaged.

Meh, noobie here, but first, I know what bandwidth caps are, but what is ISP and second what is the ISO, I'm going to guess that the ISO is just the CD saved to the HD, correct?

ISP is your Internet Service provider (IE: Comcast or Time Warner to name a few). I ISO is a Image of your cd, all it does it create a digital copy of the information on the disk so you can save it on a hard drive. You can use a program called powerISO to make one.

Thanks man, the ISP thing makes me feel stupid. The ISO thing seems easy enough, might look into that.

Starcraft 2 is the best! :D And it runs really nicely on the M14x. In large games (3v3 or higher), huge late-game battles may run a little choppy (fps in the low 20s) but otherwise, 40+ at High graphics (perfect 60 for like the first ten minutes of the game, too).

If you want crysis 2, you will have to buy the cd or get it from EA online as its been removed from steam :)

The benefits of getting it from the likes of steam, its automatically updated so you dont have to muck about with patches etc.
