    Sup guys...

I usually have my headphones on with the volume set to about 15-20%. But at times while gaming or just listening to music, my audio explodes! It's like someone cranks the volume up to 1000%. The problem affects both the Headphones and Speakers. Muting the speakers through windows doesn't decrease the sound or even mute them for that matter! The only thing that seems to fix the problem is restarting the laptop. Which is what has me wondering, could it be the Sound Card??

I downloaded all the drivers at the Dell website and everything says it's up to date.
Alienautopsy has NOT reported any issues with the card.

Oh yeah, I had my sub woofer replaced by a Dell technician not to long ago. Don't know if that has anything to do with it.

One last thing... Since I have both Intel R Audio and the Sound Blaster Recon 3di... Could it be that Im having issues b/c both are running at the same time? Can I disable Intel R Audio?

With my warranty expiring in 2 just months, this really bothers me... Makes me wonder, what else could happen?? :\

    My Specs:
    M14x R2
    i7-3610QM
    8GB RAM
    Nvidia 650m 2.0gb
    750gb HD
    BIOS: A10

    Any help would be appreciated!

    VV out :)

Delete intel r audio. You don't have an intel sound card. AW laptops have Creative sound card. Sometimes drivers make the mess. My opinion. Hope it helps :)

I would recommend to get rid of the Intel driver and also download this fix. At least, It helped me with my audio device not showing up at start, I had to restart my laptop each time I began to use it in order to listen through speakers/phones.

You can check also this thread.

This issue always happened to me before ( when i play dota)
What i did is disable the array microphone in Windows sound recording properties and Sound blaster.
Somehow this setup fix that problem,
But sometimes the audio is not stable..example when i plugin or plug out the mic jack..the audio volume suddenly become lower.

    I have a m14x R1, no Creative card.
But... on my desktop i have Gigabyte Sniper mb with creative on board sound and it does exactly the same thing as OP described. Only restarting fixes this. No solution so far. Its so freaky that its hard even to put up right words in google to search for a solution.

Exact same thing that happened to me:/
I was playing Dota2 and BOOM! I hear a loud crackling sound and I thought my headphones blew up then I unplugged my headphone jack from the laptop and I didn't hear any sound from the laptop. Had to restart the laptop and bazinga! Sound came right back up.
I've played Dota on this laptop a couple of times and this is the first time it has happened.
I guess I'll try the solutions above. Hopefully they work :D
