I was just wondering if there is anything I need to know to get set up, specific known issues, drivers, bios versions etc. I will search around but I figured I would post here too. Just make a disk image in case you ever delete the partition for recovery/respawn. Other than that good to go out of the box! Only driver that really ever needs updating is the graphics driver. Great forum for M14x is the one you just posted in here on NBR.

There are heating issues and battery life issues, but they're mainly for the core i7 series. You shouldn't have as much heat as an i7, but a laptop cooler would still be a good idea. What I would do is clean the system up. There aren't much bloatware, but if you value a fast start up, uncheck as many programs in the msconfig start menu as possible. I only have like 6 or 8 checked to start up and it takes 10 seconds after the login page to load. Congrats on your new system bro.
