    Guys,

    I got my m14x in...

Ill be returning to dell within a week.

But I know there are LONG wait times for this little machine, so if someone would just like to take it off my hands before I send it back, im open to that.

Ill be returning it within a week though... thought id let you guys now

    Specs:
    I7 2630
    4gb ram
    500 gb hdd
    1600x900 screen

What you can do is report that the optical drive is faulty. Or something.

Do the shut down with battery test. 99% chance is you will have the same issue
You can legally return it as a faulty product.

Not quite sure why everyone wants the red. It seems to be the colour everyone is getting.

I was set on the red and then I thought about it a bit more...

My mentality on it was this: a red topped computer does not go with every Alienware led colour. However a black topped computer goes with everything, because there's no other colour to contest with. Everything goes with black.

I'm too picky with colour co-ordination to get the red. What happens when you get sick of red? You can't turn it off. With a black computer, you can adjust the Alienware leds for mood. I might feel like going green for a week so enable that. Or orange, or whatever else.

When I got my M11x r2 I got it in silver because no-one else I knew was getting that colour, and it was a great colour. Because it's a shade and not a colour it goes with the different coloured led's as well.

Not at all saying anyone who got red got the wrong colour. It's all about personal preference. But for the obsessive compulsive, black is a no brainer (even if it is a bit boring). :p

My only issue is that you can see dust on black easier. But I'm forever cleaning the inside layer anyway so why not clean the outside shell while I'm at it.

Then there are those of us who think all the lights are just a gimmick and won't use any of them except for the keyboard backlight :p

I thought Dell / Alienware had a 30 day no questions asked return policy?

Dell/Alienware is 21 days return policy. 15% restocking fee unless you know how to sweet talk (bullshyet them) into removing it or buying another product from them (not successful all the time).

    Oh I know this.

I'm just offering it up as a favor to someone so they don't have to wait on build time before I decide to ship it back.

Hmm, looks like it's a 30 day return warranty and say it MAY be subjected to a 15% restocking fee. I'm sure if you said you were buying another they'd waive the fee anyhow.

Man, if I had anywhere close to enough money in my bank account right now I would buy that off of you in an instant. Black stock w/ upgraded screen is exactly what I want and would kill to have any discount however small it might be :(. Gotta keep saving.

Black stock with upgraded screen is exactly what I wanted for too. When the time came to get it, I also got internal bluetooth. Black stock with the 1600x900 screen is perfect.

I am not regretting the red purchase. It looks darker than the pictures, and the soft touch finish is pretty sweet
