Is it reflective or matte? Would particularly appreciate opinions from ex-M11x owners since I have one of these, and it's the bane of my existence. Others are welcome to chime in.

    Thanks

I don't reveived my m14x atm but I can say that the screen is reflective. The screen is really nice from all reviews I read.

See, the Dell website still says the lower res screen has anti glare while the higher res one not, and I can't find any proper confirmation of the fact either way.

I have the 900p screen. And compared to the M11x I had, one year ago so memory might be slightly off, the two screens is the same concering reflectivness.

The 900p screen is reflective as hell, I can't say anything about the lower res screen.

I hate it. Why anyone would want a reflective screen on their laptop, I'll never know. If I had a choice I'd pick a matte finish, but alas, no choice, so it's glossy.

It is one of the most reflective screens you will ever see.

I have to lower res screen, and I'm outside right now and its glossy as all hell, I actually have it angled down slightly to get at least some viewing ability

I have the 900p and it's reflective, but to me it's fine. This machine is going to remain indoors hooked up to my 32" HDTV anyway, so I can definitely deal with it. :p

My M11X on the other hand... ;)

It's a reflective screen for the 720p and 900p versions.

You're not a poor sod known as the m11x owner. The outer layer is glossy. The panel underneath is glossy, too!!

At least the m17x uses a matte panel under the glossy outer cover. I dunno about the m14x.

    Screen opinions are 100% subjective.

What isn't, however, is that technically speaking the 900p is a low quality screen. 42% gamut coverage?

    Ew.

For me, that's the only disappointing thing about the entire laptop.

The screen is not reflective, the plastic panel is what's reflective.
