I have a 3 month old M14x, its running Windows 7 with the following specs:
    Intel i7 2630QM CPU @ 2Ghz (8CPUs)
    6GB 1600MHz DDR3 RAM
    1600x900 WLED monitor
    NVIDIA GeForce 3GB GT 555m

I think that's all that matters...

Anyway since I've had it I've been really underwhelmed. My first game on it was minecraft which froze and overheated, solved this with a cooling pad. More recently I got Darksiders which has reasonable system reqs but I've had big problems with stutter in game and screen tear on cinematics. I've manually set steam to use the NVIDIA graphics card as darksiders runs through it I'm guessing that means it should be working?

I've ran 3D vantage mark and recieved P6319
I recieved P5219 for GPU and P17175 for CPU

Is this in the right region?

Finally after emailing the tech support they told me to scan my system (F12 at dell logo then Diagnostics) and there was an error in the system section which said the following:
    Error Code: 2000-0233
    validation 44711
Msg: System board - RTC 'seconds' count is not updating.

The person replied saying they wanted to replace my motherboard, I don't know a lot about this sort of stuff and was wondering whether this is them just doing something that won't make any difference to say they "fixed" it.

Any advice would be great. I don't want to replace anything that doesn't require it but would love a gaming laptop that plays games well. Thanks for your attention.

    Steven

have you tried whitelisting? Your motherboard might be faulty indeed. If that is so then replacing it is the only solution. If you can't run a game that people are not having trouble playing then you should have them fix it especially while you still have warranty

Definitely call dell back and have them replace the motherboard.

Well if they advice you to replace the motherboard then do it, because since it is cover by the warrant, that what it is for, you can only have one year (depend) you I'd suggest you enjoy the warranty while you can. For the next day hardware support, it is actually a NBD (Next Business Day), for me they'll call me on one of the business day for appointment, the service with Dell I've been having, has been very very good.
