Just wondering if it is safe and wise (from a warranty and does the pc work point of view) to delete the Dell Diagnostic partition...

Still having problems and it seems a lot of people recommend deleting ALL partitions when re-installing.

I dont think you can delete it, because it is build with the BIOS, unless you remove the BIOS, lol.

I've removed them off of desktop workstations I get from Dell often. It isn't part of BIOS, it is a bootable partition for testing hardware. If you have other utilities for testing or don't care, you can remove it.

I see an Alienware being no different. I see no reason why you can remove the diagnostic/Respawn partitions and just use the primary boot partition.

Your laptop should come with Windows discs. I've been using the same drive since a few years ago and it's worked fine. This drive is basically a generic Windows installation, doesn't have Dell partitions or software (apart from AlienFX for now), so it's safe for you to delete the partition without making a copy of it. Your Windows DVD is included and drivers can be found at Dell's site.

but if you want so sell or return the book its easier to just make a alienspawn safety copy.

in the cases stated above, just throw it in and ur good.
