I've read both threads on how SSD's are a gamble when it comes to operating successfully with SATA 3.

I am planning on buying a Samsung 830, (128 Gb)

I'm going to do a fresh install from the disk I get from stock.
I'll keep my hard drive so I can re-install it if the SSD messes up.

Apparently I am supposed to let Windows configure itself when it detects the SSD, and then I hear I am supposed to enable certain features in BIOS to get the drive to work. Why is that? I hear I am also supposed to disable Windows Drive de fragmenter. Shouldn't it do this in the configuration?

Now if I get it to operate successfully How do I tell its working at SATA 3 speeds?
And If I am encountering BSOD's and more problems I assume I will be forced to disable SATA 3 for the SSD. I don't want to download Bios A08. I hear it decreases performance (Not only the SSD) I have Bios A03, is there a way to make it run at SATA 2 from Bios edit? I'm just asking

I have that exact SSD and I love it! No issues at all, Sata 3 speeds out of the box! If you do get this drive you can download ATTO Disc Benchmark or a similar program and it will tell you the speeds.

As for Bios I'm using A05 and here are my speeds

I tried A08 and they dropped to this.

Again, I switched back to A05 and I have never had an issue with this drive. Good luck!
