So I am getting like 20 frames per second on Call of Pripyat which seems really weird because I can run Fallout: New Vegas on super high settings with not problem and I have notice a post by an m11x user that they are getting 50 fps on medium and 30-40 fps on high.

What gives? What settings to make this game run properly. I have i7 and stock 3.0 Gb GT 555m.

This game does not seem to have such good graphics to run so badly on m14x...

    Thanks for help :)

Have you got the latest nvidia drivers? They might help, as i wonder if optimus isn't kicking in. so you're using the integrated intel HD chip. not really designed for gaming!

Latest ones that are out are 285.62 i believe.

Make sure you white list the game so that it runs on the dedicated gpu.

I did both of these things so now I am running the NVIDIA 285.something driver and I whitelisted the application. I see an improvement to 30 FPS but it drops to 20s at times when I am out in the open. Are there any advanced settings I should definitely disable like SSAO or something? I tried disabling SSAO before but there was no change.

Also I have read elsewhere that some people are running games like Metro 2033 in DirectX 9, 10, or 11. It sounds as though they are able to switch between the three and I am unaware of how to do this or if it is necessary. Any help?
