I am really shocked at this...I get a Windows message fairly often saying I am running out of memory and need to close the game...I'm not running anything in the background, just OC'd using MSI Afterburner and have some Addons for the game itself...also running Ultra Graphics with Vertical Sync off and Shadows on Low....so do I really need to get more than 4GB of memory?

Yea, I had it turned off..part of a SSD optimization guide, but turned it back on to automatic...I will see if that fixes it

Yeh that will definitely fix it. If u want to minimise the size of the pagefile on ur SSD u can always manually set it to a lower amount without turning it off completely. I have mine at 2gb

I mean is it worth setting it to something lower?

I had the same issue in BF3 when my unit had the stock 6GB in it, and had to turn it back on too. I set it to 1Gb and haven't had any issues since. It was wierd though because there was plenty of memory left and the game was only using like 1GB or so. Must of just been the way windows handles memory.

Im sure in this guide was also noted that only when you got a minimum of 8 GB RAM to disable the pagefile completly.

If the issue is not fixed with that you may need to upgrade the RAM on the machine to at least 8GB if you need pricing info you can contact us on [email protected]. We'll be glad to help.

For some reason disabling the pagefile makes windows think it's out of ram even when there is still plenty. Like I said above, when I had 6GB and the game was using 1GB with only minor backgrounds services running, windows still complained that it was low on memory.

I just turned pagefile back on and put it all the way up to 4gb...I will say when I do another clean install I am not going to do all the optimizations for my SSD as I find that most cause more trouble than good

Had the same problems until im having 8 GB now. Hadnt any problem yet for 2 months disabling the pagefile. When i had only 6 GB sometimes windows told me im out of memory... with 4 GB in the past some progs didnt even start. With 8 GB no problem at all.

I have been meaning to upgrade my memory, just haven't yet...isn't it like $100 for good memory?
