    Replacing the HDD

    Hi guys, I just received my M14x (and I love it) and I'll reveice my SSD today.
    Is there a tuto or something like that on the forum? If no can you tell me where is situated the HDD? Thanks in advance :D

    Youtube have a guide, but when removing the " power-connector to" to the DVD away from the motherboard it states wrong, all you shall do is to "flick" the thing up and the cable is out, that is written under the commentatorfield on youtube.

    Do you have a lot of things to remove to access the HDD?

    There wouldn't be a way to hot swap drives in the m14x is there? If I wanted to swap between an SSD and regular HDD..

    No, its easy and quick to remove parts to access the HDD, you have to remove the DVD-tray but its quick and easy.

    Bmc401 : What do you mean by hotswap? You can have regular hdd and SSD if you remove the DVD.

    Remove back panel, unscrew the dvd drive, carefully remove the dvd drive, especially the tape like cable. And the hdd is right under there. Or you could throw the dvd drive out (joking of course) though i'll never use it.

    I just have a problem now with the fresh windows install, I have an unknown device on the PCI bus and I don't know what can it be ._.
