Replaced M14x and Hello

Hi all,
glad to have my m14x replacement at last. very pleased with it so far. Must say it is like literally a new laptop.

its like night and day, responsive quiet, rapido.....................glad i didnt take my ball home and jump ship.

lets have some fun and sell this macbook lol

but someone will buy it, they are usually easy to sell with the "shiny OMG APPPLE LLEEETT"

perhaps a comparison will be forthcoming, the two really are worlds apart.If I was comparing based on the first m14x I had delivered.........it would not be very favourable lol.

I love and hate my macbook pro with a passion I just couldnt see me using it.
I'm a real fussy git when it comes to laptops, worked my way through probably 10 in the last 4 years at a guess.

In the last year 2 macbook pro's and a gx740 by msi, which was actually pretty good.

I think in many ways its about compromise, like the m14x. Screens surprisingly good compared to previous dells I have had.............nowhere near as good as the macbook, but good enough.

Power wise, it blows the mac out of the water.A lot of comments are made about the price of a mac and the use of last years components. plus the fact that you have to spend nearly £1800 just to be able to play a decent game.

Basically I was fed up with the usual, buy a hulking great goliath to play games or have a good battery life.

Seems my search for a perfect (ish) laptop is coming to an end. I look forward to lobbing an SSD in later and hopefully keeping this for at least six months Just need a decent case

 

Bios still A01 , think we can safely assume it was a faulty seagate 500gb in the first. Quiet in the sense I have not had a chance to get a game on yet.

Unlike last time, been merrily installing updates, downloading and posting in the last hour. No dodgy space bar, no case imperfections and running like a dream.

Croatoan, how bad were your case imperfections? Mine came with a screen that's slightly scratched and some nicks at the back edge as though it had been bumped by someone before. I may be nitpicking because the flaws aren't so bad and I'm a perfectionist, but I expect a brand new laptop that I paid good money for to be perfect as well.

 

You said its your perfect laptop so far and you only expect to keep it for 6 months? lol

 

The imperfections were, dunno look like used before. Basically round the lit fake vents at the front. The glossy plastic was scratched, but very fine scratch..........like it has been cleaned with an abrasive cloth. Also the soft tough case to the left of the keyboard had a lump / bobble like it wasnt finished properly. Plus the keyboard was a bit spongy. All nit picking but got none of that this time.

@Gearsguy.....................so far lol. I think provided I can sit and watch a movie on it and I dont notice too bad a contrast shift when I move my head. It could be a long romance. Nothing lasts forever and we both know hearts can change................

That and having to dumb down too many games, laptops always leave me dissapointed......... As you know, you always judge every computer by the fastest one you use.
