I just received my laptop back from Alienware Technical Support. Overclocking works now. The problem was with my motherboard.

So what is the recommendation for Overclocking? I heard 700/1400/1000 is suitable for M14x.

Help me out please & thank you.

Personally I have it at 750/1500/1080 and haven't had any problems.

I have it OC at 780/1560/1080, and it is very stable, if you install a modded VBIOS, you even able to OC more than that, however it tend to be very unstable, anything over 850/1700/1100 will crash most games. A cooler also a good choice and if you want to reduce more heat, you can also try disable the Turbo Boost in the BIOS setting, I know it is not relate to the GPU, but it will help reduce heat.

its actually related to the gpu, since the CPu+GPU are on the same fan, so im guessing with less cpu heat, the gpu will be cooler too.

I use the core at 700. I use to do 750, but it wasn't too stable, I say stay at 700. It'll put less strain on your gpu and it won't ever crash. Plus you really can't tell a difference quality wise between them.

I mean, not directly relate (like the GPU topics) but yes it is relate if talking about Heats, because like you said, the two component use the same heating pipe, in fact the GPU use the CPU's heating pipe.

Thank you very much guys. I will be purchasing a cooling fan asap. My palm gets hot because of the system. Only thing I dislike about M14x.
