Alright, so yesterday I was happily watching the Frag Cup on youtube as a live stream, and everything was fine when my laptop suddenly flew into maximum brightness and then everything was turned into Basic theme.

things started to lag a bit so I shut it down and then restarted which seemed to fix the problems (Little lag on windows loading screen). Later the next day I noticed some games were not operating correctly.

So I switched themes thinking this would solve the problem which it did.

But does anyone know what the hell happened? This is the second time my laptop has randomly done this. (First time games still ran fine and no issues)

Has this happened to anyone else? This happened while plugged in

yeah I had a very similar issue. Everything would get sluggish, but games would still run fine (with the exception when the system would over heat, then performance would get murky).

I performed a system format and reinstalled windows. Funny thing is, the system ran worse when I did this, to the point where it felt like a celeron...but again games weren't affected.

I swapped out the hard drive with an SSD and the system has never ran this well ever.

Now this doesn't mean that you should get an SSD but if you do a fresh install and the system is still running badly, try swapping out the HDD, that might be the problem!

have u tried a fresh install?

I haven't heard of SSDs showing signs of bad performance randomly like that, so I doubt it's the SSD that is the problem. SSDs either work, die or have firmware issues.

When you go into Task Manager is your CPU between 1-10% and Ram around 25%?

Do you have a lot going on in background?

Either way, you shouldn't have to turn down items such as themes and windows features to make the system run...it's a more than capable system to do everything. The m11x on the other hand I would understand if you had to turn down features, for example for me I turned off a lot of boot functions and also the search Fetch.

    :)

No the system ran, it just spiked in its performance, I mean everything was set to high. Then it lagged a bit. I mean everything just shot up to max. Max brightness Max power plan. Theme went to Basic for better performance. I think its just a bug. I'm not going to do a reinstall because of that, was just wondering if anyone else had this. And I was running several programs at the same time. The laptop had been plugged in for at least 5 hours. (Charged then was gaming)
